One page. The five things your family would need in the first 24 hours if they could not reach you. Printed, filled in, and somewhere they can find it.
Most households keep their critical information in exactly one place: somebody’s head. This sheet gets the most urgent part of it onto paper in about ten minutes.
What is on the sheet
| Getting in | How to unlock your phone and computer, and where the spare key is. |
| The money | Which bank the bills come out of, and what is on auto-pay. |
| Who to call | Your first three contacts, your doctor, and your employer. |
| Kids and pets | School, childminder, vet, and any medication that matters. |
| The documents | Where the passports, policies and the will are kept. |

Is it safe to write this down?
That depends entirely on how you fill it in, and it is worth two minutes of thought before you start.
The principle we use across everything at Emergency Mentors is locator, not storer. Record where something is kept rather than the secret itself. Not the master password, but “in the password manager, hint in the red notebook.” Not a copy of the will, but “second drawer of the filing cabinet.”
Filled in that way, the sheet is safe to keep somewhere reachable, which is the whole point of having it. Anything you do write in full, keep in a safe or a locked drawer.
What happens after you download it
You will get the sheet straight away. Over the following few days we will send you a short series of emails about organising the rest of the household, and then we will leave you alone. No daily mail, and one click unsubscribes you for good.
If you would rather see the full picture first, our emergency binder checklist covers all seven sections a household needs. And if you would rather have the whole thing ready-made, The Household Map is our complete 17-page fillable version.
Emergency Mentors has been teaching families how to use the emergency services properly since 2015. This sheet is for organisational purposes and is not legal or financial advice.
